CVS Health Live: Preventing suicide in our communities

According to the CDC, rates of suicide increased from 1999 to 2019, with a small decline over the past two years. However, rates of suicide are increasing among teens and young adults, especially among LGBTQ+ and BIPOC groups. In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month, CVS Health® and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will host a panel discussion on how to start tough, but critical conversations that can lead people in need to the right interventions and resources.

Moderated by Jessica DaMassa, Health Innovation Reporter, panelists will include Deborah Fernandez-Turner, Medical Director, Behavioral Health, Aetna, a CVS Health Company; Sara Miscannon, Supervisor, Clinical Health Services, at Aetna, a CVS Health Company; and Doreen Marshall, Vice President of Mission Engagement at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
