Katerina Guerraz
Katerina Guerraz is executive vice president and chief operating officer for Aetna and president, Aetna Medicaid. Aetna provides health benefits solutions to over 26 million members and generates $130 billion of annual revenue. She leads the overall operations for the Health Care Benefits segment which includes Aetna Clinical Solutions, Pharmacy, Affordability, Mental Well-being, and Aetna Customer and Provider Operations. In her role as president of Aetna Medicaid, a business that generates $20 billion in annual revenue, Katerina and her team partner with states and providers in local communities to drive better health outcomes and create affordability for the more than 2 million Medicaid members Aetna serves.
She was most recently executive vice president, chief strategy officer and head of enterprise affairs for CVS Health®. She was responsible for enterprise strategy, communications and served as the chief strategic advisor to the President and CEO of CVS Health. Katerina led the enterprise business management and planning processes that are necessary for CVS Health achieving its business goals.
Previously, Katerina was the chief operating officer for the Aetna Group Medicare business, which provides retiree health solutions for employers and more than one million members. She led the overall operations for this business which included client retention and growth for over 500 employers, strategic marketing and communications, strategic planning and sales operations.
Prior to her Medicare role, Katerina was the vice president of enterprise strategy and integration services and planning and led strategic and operational initiatives that spanned Aetna divisions. She also led the Enterprise Distribution Center of Excellence across all of Aetna’s businesses.
Since joining the company in 2000, Katerina has held various leadership positions in Aetna’s Commercial and Medicare businesses spanning sales operations, broker relations, market development, strategy, marketing, planning and communications. Before joining Aetna, Katerina led clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry and various government organizations such as the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Drug Abuse. Katerina earned a B.A. in economics and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Connecticut.
