Free family-friendly pop-up pumpkin patch flu events coming to your community
CHICAGO, Oct. 25, 2023 — Aetna Better Health® of Illinois, a CVS Health® company (NYSE: CVS), is hosting four pop-up pumpkin patch Boo to the Flu events in Chicago.
To ensure Chicagoans can access flu vaccines regardless of their ability to pay, Aetna Better Health of Illinois has organized Boo to the Flu events where residents can get a flu shot at no cost.
“Our goal is to bring health care services to our members in their communities,” said Rushil Desai, CEO, Aetna Better Health of Illinois. “Lack of accessibility often prevents people from getting their flu vaccine. Our Boo to the Flu events combine a vaccination event with a family-fun pumpkin patch for community members to enjoy holiday fun and receive important flu vaccination right in their neighborhood.”
Each Boo to the Flu event will include a host of fun activities for the entire family including a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, haunted Aetna® heart experience and the opportunity to learn about local resources from community organizations. The event on Thursday, October 19, at Legends South, will feature a special appearance from the Chicago Chapter of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA).
“The NFLPA is always looking for ways to give back to the community,” said Justin Staples, president of the Chicago Chapter of the NFLPA. “We’re excited to kick off the holiday season by partnering with Aetna Better Health of Illinois to bring a safe family friendly event to the city all while promoting health and wellness.”
Boo to the Flu events encourage and coordinate access for annual flu vaccinations to prevent and reduce the risk of influenza transmission, while bringing immersive pumpkin patch experiences to several neighborhoods in the city.
