WOONSOCKET, R.I., October 07, 2025 — Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) authorization of the updated 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccines, CVS Health® (NYSE: CVS) today announced that the vaccines are now available to patients at all CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations nationwide. Prescriptions from outside prescribers are not required in any states. The updated vaccines were approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in late August.
Appointments for individuals aged five and above1 are available at CVS.com and via the CVS Health app, and walk-ins are accepted. MinuteClinic is also offering the new COVID-19 vaccine for patients aged 18 months and above, with appointments available at MinuteClinic.com and the CVS Health app.
“Vaccination is a safe, effective and simple way to help protect yourself, your family and your community,” said Amy Compton-Phillips, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, CVS Health. “Our pharmacies and clinics make it easy for patients to get vaccinated when and where it’s convenient for them.”
On September 19, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) unanimously recommended COVID-19 vaccines be administered through individual decision-making (also known as shared clinical decision-making). ACIP’s recommendation applies to all individuals six months and older. Individual clinical decision-making vaccinations are individually based and informed by a decision process between the health care provider, including physicians, nurses and pharmacists, and the patient or parent/guardian. In all states, CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic providers will administer updated COVID-19 vaccinations to patients who request them.
Vaccination appointments are available at CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic seven days a week, including during evenings and weekends. The online vaccine scheduler offers the flexibility to schedule multiple patients (for up to four people) at once, allowing families, caregivers and others to get their vaccines together, at a time that’s most convenient for them. Patients can also schedule multiple vaccinations in one appointment, such as flu, COVID-19, MMR and more.
The updated COVID-19 vaccine is available at no-cost through most insurance plans. For those who are uninsured, the cost at CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic ranges between $154 and $249.99, depending on product type and eligibility.
Subject to state law, COVID-19 vaccines for ages 5+ are available at select CVS Pharmacy® locations. COVID-19 vaccines for individuals 18+ months are available at all MinuteClinic® locations.
