America’s first suicide prevention center in Culver City, CA

Today, we’re visiting Culver City, California to meet with the amazing people at Didi Hirsch, the first suicide prevention center of its kind here in the U.S., where more than 47,000 people die by suicide each year. But many suicides can be prevented. Aetna’s Mental Wellbeing team is working to do just that, with a comprehensive strategy to reduce suicide attempts among their members by 20% by the year 2025.

Didi Hirsch mental health services offers its community an innovative Suicide Prevention Center, with mental health practices that now serve as a model for suicide prevention organizations around the world. In addition to the amazing staff and community members at Didi Hirsch, we connected with Deborah Fernandez-Turner, Interim Chief Psychiatric Officer at Aetna. Similarly, on this month’s podcast, we connected with Cara McNulty, President of Behavioral Health and Mental Wellbeing for CVS Health Aetna.
