New location at Lane College demonstrates CVS Health's commitment to enhancing access to equitable workforce development and training for underserved populations
WOONSOCKET, R.I., April 11, 2023—Today, CVS Health® (NYSE: CVS) announced the grand opening of its newest Workforce Innovation and Talent Center (WITC) in Jackson, Tennessee on campus of Lane College. Each WITC location leverages the company’s longstanding community partnerships as a part of its commitment to provide meaningful employment opportunities in the communities we serve.
“Our Workforce Innovation Talent Centers are designed to be a tangible investment in the communities we serve, that help members of these communities overcome barriers to employment and position individuals for long-term success,” said Ernest Dupont, Executive Director of Workforce Initiatives, CVS Health. “We’re working with Lane College and other local partners, recognizing the many social determinants that negatively impact the most vulnerable members of the local community and we believe that through this collaboration we can improve the lives of many.”
The new Lane College Workforce Innovation and Talent Center is located at 545 Lane Avenue in Jackson, Tennessee on the 2nd Floor of Lane College’s Business and Science Building. The center was designed to house workforce development trainings, certificate programs, educational programs, and will also be used as a lab to support two courses Lane College created for Pharmacy Tech and Business Management.
“The collaboration with CVS Health to deliver a Workforce Innovation Talent Center (WITC) on our campus provides our students the opportunity to acquire career credentials to serve in CVS pharmacies and manage retail operations,” said Dr. Logan Hampton, President of Lane College. “These students will enter the workforce a step ahead of their competition. I salute and thank CVS Health for partnering with our STEM and business faculty to make the WITC a reality.”
The Lane College WITC is a collaborative space that includes a front store, pharmacy, small workstation, and a clean room for local high school students and a local disability agency to engage our community workforce programs and partnerships.
In addition to the new Jackson location, the company operates Workforce Innovation and Talent Centers in Woonsocket, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Boston, New York City and Washington, D.C.
