Customers with SNAP/EBT benefits will now be able to shop CVS Pharmacy via DoorDash and Uber Eats

Key points

  • CVS Pharmacy has teamed up with DoorDash and Uber Eats to offer SNAP/EBT payments for CVS Pharmacy purchases on both platforms.

  • Customers will be able to shop over 37,000 SNAP-eligible items on each platform, including beverages, groceries and snacks, at most CVS Pharmacy stores

  • CVS Pharmacy currently accepts SNAP/EBT at all stores, but those customers now have more ways to purchase and receive essential grocery and food items

For many, access to essential grocery items is not as simple as hopping in the car and driving to the nearest store. Instead, due to mobility issues, transportation limitations or other factors, many rely on delivery services to get the products they need.

To expand access to delivery for those customers who need it most, customers shopping CVS Pharmacy on DoorDash and Uber Eats can now use their SNAP/EBT benefits to make purchases. Customers will be able to shop over 37,000 SNAP-eligible items on each platform, including beverages, groceries and snacks, from the over 7,100 CVS Pharmacy stores currently on DoorDash and Uber Eats. CVS Pharmacy currently accepts SNAP/EBT at all stores, but by expanding that option to DoorDash and Uber Eats, customers with those benefits will now have more ways to purchase and receive their items.

“We know millions of Americans depend on SNAP benefits every day,” said Zachary Dennett, Vice President of Merchandising, Consumer Health and Wellness and Supplemental Benefits, CVS Health. “By providing those customers with more options to shop with us, we’re meeting them when and where they need us to ensure they can easily access essential grocery and food items.”

To shop CVS SNAP-eligible items for delivery in each platform, customers add their EBT card as a form of payment and then visit the CVS Pharmacy storefront. At checkout, SNAP users can select how much of their benefit they would like to allocate to eligible items in their order.

This latest expansion adds to the many delivery options already available to CVS Pharmacy customers. CVS Pharmacy launched on DoorDash in 2020 and on Uber Eats in 2021. Customers also have the option for same-day delivery and buy online, pick-up in store for items purchased via CVS.com and the CVS Health app.* In addition, members of ExtraCare Plus, the small-fee, big-savings tier of the ExtraCare loyalty program, receive free same-day delivery of nearly all products in the store in as little as three hours.
