I don't want my illness making decisions for me

Chronic illness involves far more than symptoms. Lauren Del Rosario relies on CVS Health to track about 11 medications and the refill schedules, appointments and care routines that come with them, leaving more room to focus on what brings her joy.

Some days, that means staying connected with friends, making it to game nights or spending time with her dog and cat. On others, it means adjusting plans and leaning on a care routine she can depend on.

Through CVS Pharmacy, CVS Specialty, CVS Caremark and the CVS Health® app, Lauren keeps prescriptions organized and care moving. She selects pickup or delivery based on how she’s feeling, which helps when gastrointestinal issues, migraines or other symptoms make it harder to leave home.

“To even have that option is another piece of independence,” Lauren said.

She also visits her neighborhood CVS Pharmacy in Philadelphia about four times a week, where medication support, pharmacist guidance and everyday items are part of a routine that makes daily life more manageable.

The CVS Health app brings the details together in one place, from refill timing and dosage instructions to medication information and reminders — a source of reassurance when staying on top of every medication matters.

“The CVS Health app is on the first screen of my phone," Lauren said. "That’s the level of importance."

When an insurance issue delayed a medication, Lauren’s local pharmacy team eased the burden of navigating between her provider and insurance.

“Why don’t we do that for you?” Lauren recalled the team saying.

That moment reinforced what CVS Pharmacy had become in her life — not only where she fills prescriptions, but where she feels supported.

“I don’t see them as a separate provider. They’re part of my care team. I don’t know what I would do without CVS,” Lauren said.
