Aetna and Mercyhealth Announce New Agreement

JANESVILLE, Wis. – Aetna (NYSE: AET) and Mercyhealth today announced that the two organizations have signed a new contract. This results in an expansion of Aetna’s current Medicare Advantage and commercial group network to include Mercyhealth’s hospitals and physicians in Wisconsin.

“We are thrilled about the expansion of our partnership with Mercyhealth which enables us to serve more Medicare Advantage and commercial members in Wisconsin,” said Kristin Myers, President of Aetna’s Great Lakes market.  “Aetna and Mercyhealth are both dedicated to improving the health, quality of care and experience of our members through exceptional, coordinated health care.”

“Mercyhealth is pleased to partner with Aetna to provide high quality care to their members throughout southern Wisconsin,” says Javon R. Bea, President and CEO of Mercyhealth.

Aetna offers competitive commercial insurance and Medicare Advantage products in select Wisconsin markets. Starting Jan. 1, 2018, these products will now include covered inpatient and outpatient health care services at in-network rates from Mercyhealth’s hospitals in Wisconsin, as well as its network of more than 300 physicians in Rock and Walworth counties.
