Commitment to the ethical treatment of animals at CVS Pharmacy

As a leading health solutions company, improving health guides all we do, including the health of the products that we sell in our CVS Pharmacy® locations. We have a long-standing commitment to the ethical treatment of animals as it relates to our business.

We are committed to providing our customers with safe, efficacious products developed with respect for our environment and without the use of animal testing. It is our policy that we do not test any store brand products on animals as part of our product development process. We work closely with our store brand supplier partners to ensure they are aware of and adhere to our company policy related to animal testing.

In 2015, we announced a commitment to source cage-free eggs across our retail chain by 2025. We achieved this goal at the end of 2022. All eggs offered in our stores are cage-free, or better (ex: free-range). Learn more about our sourcing) and sustainability practices in our annual Impact report.

Oversight of this policy lies with our VP of Store Brands, VP of Merchandising and VP of Compliance. It is reviewed annually.
