As an optometrist in Long Island City, Lilan Nguyen spends her days caring for patients, often into the evening. Finding time for her own health can be challenging, so she relies on CVS Health services that fit her packed schedule.

The Dallas native, who moved to New York two years ago for work, turns to CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic for flu shots, travel immunizations, primary care and women’s health services. She uses the CVS Health® app to schedule late-evening and weekend MinuteClinic appointments that fit her busy calendar and help her prioritize her health. Nearby locations also allow her to address health needs during breaks and quickly return to her patients.

“There was one time during my break that I really wanted to get a flu shot,” Lilan recalled. “I made a 12:30 p.m. appointment, walked three blocks to CVS Pharmacy, got the shot and was soon back at work. I don’t think I could do that with any other pharmacy. CVS was very convenient. It’s always CVS for me.”

That ease has supported her through different stages of life. In college, she visited MinuteClinic to discuss birth control options when the wait for a primary care appointment stretched for months. She valued the personalized care and the time her provider took to answer her questions.

“I wanted a provider I could be vulnerable with and feel like they weren’t judging me,” she said. “I felt comfortable with my provider.”

Whether preparing for an international trip or fitting in preventive care, Lilan values having accessible services close by.

“Everything that can be done there, I will do there. I do everything at CVS,” she said.

For Lilan, the biggest benefit is simple: “CVS makes the times that could be very stressful in my life a lot easier. With CVS, my life keeps going.”
