Pittsburgh, PA Aetna and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) announced an agreement to a new, multi-year contract to ensure western Pennsylvanians enrolled in Aetna Commercial and Medicare Advantage health plans have in-network access to all UPMC’s facilities and physicians. This agreement continues access to UPMC’s physicians and facilities for Commercial and Medicare Advantage plans through 2021.

Aetna covers nearly 1.2 million Pennsylvanians under its Commercial and Medicare Advantage plans. Chuba, vice president, Payor Contract Services, UPMC. “UPMC is continually seeking ways to better serve our patients, and this agreement allows us to build on our current partnership with Aetna to ensure their customers have access to the highest-quality, most cost-effective, patient-focused health care available in Pennsylvania.”

Aetna employs about 6,500 people in Pennsylvania and is proud to have been serving its communities since 1890, providing choice and access to care with competitive health care plans and Medicare Advantage plans.
