Disaster relief

When a disaster strikes, CVS Health is committed to supporting relief and recovery efforts. We work with national, state and local first responders as well as Direct Relief and the American Red Cross to provide financial support, product donations and employee volunteers.

Depending on the nature of the incident and the needs of the community, we may also:

  • Set up mobile pharmacy trailers to fill prescriptions and offer supplies like paper towels, bleach, batteries and snacks

  • Deliver prescriptions to those unable to leave their homes

  • Waive prescription copayments and deductibles for those in the hardest-hit communities

  • Staff storm shelters with MinuteClinic nurse practitioners to provide basic health care services and write prescriptions for those who have lost their medications

We also offer support to employees who are affected by disaster. The CVS Health Employee Relief Fund, funded in part by employee donations, provides short-term, immediate financial relief to employees who’ve suffered significant hardship as a result of a natural disaster, family death, medical emergency or other unforeseen events.
